KHARTOUM, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- The African Union (AU) Envoy to Sudan Mohamed Hacen Lebatt announced that another meeting would be convened on Friday between Sudan's opposition Freedom and Change Alliance and the Transitional Military Council (TMC) regarding the constitutional declaration.

"The meeting which began on Thursday and ended on Friday morning has made great strides over the constitutional declaration," Lebatt told reporters.

"The second meeting will be convened at 8:00 p.m. Friday to complete the negotiations between the two parties," he noted.

Ibrahim Al-Amin, a leading member in the Freedom and Change Alliance, told reporters that "the two sides have discussed all the items of the constitutional declaration and reached consensus over most of its content."

"On Saturday, you will hear good news about the results of these talks which will lead us to forming a civilian government," he added.

On July 17, the TMC and the opposition alliance signed a political declaration which determines the political structures of the transitional period.

It stipulates the establishment of a joint sovereignty council of 11 members, including five civilians, five military representatives and one civilian to be selected through mutual consultation.

It also provides that a council of ministers be formed.
