Bangkok (People’s Daily)- The Beijing Municipal Commission for Tourism Development (BJTA) held a promotional event Sunday in Bangkok, Thailand.

Attended by representatives of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the organizer and more than 500 Thais, the event began with a traditional lion dance.

Traditional Chinese lion dance serves as the opening number for the event.

"Beijing is an ancient capital city with a history of over 1,000 years, an international metropolis featuring inclusiveness and opening-up, as well as a hub for China's politics, culture, international exchanges and technological innovation," said Wang Qing, a senior official at BJTA. "China welcomes more friends from Thailand to Beijing for tours and to experience its internationalization, brilliant ancient culture, unique oriental charm and modernization."

The activity has combined traditional cultural activities with modern technological techniques to give the participants a better and more realistic experience by featuring a photo exhibit, VR skiing, body painting, Beijing food tasting, sketching opera facial makeup and paper-cutting.
