Washington (People’s Daily) -- Former US Vice President Joe Biden won an important victory in South Carolina Saturday in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

South Carolina is the fourth state to hold a primary election.

Although Biden has long maintained the lead among Democratic presidential candidates, since Iowa's primary election kicked off on February 3, Sen. Bernie Sanders has won in three states.

Media analysis pointed out that Biden's victory in South Carolina is extremely important to stabilize the morale of the Biden camp.
