RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian Vice President Hamilton Mourao tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, his office said in a statement.

The result was confirmed Sunday afternoon and the vice president will remain in isolation at the official vice-presidential residence, said the statement.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was infected in July and has recovered.
