British Prime Minister Theresa May on Monday lamented a "very disappointing" result from European Parliament elections in which her Conservatives were crushed by the Brexit Party of anti-EU populist Nigel Farage.

"A very disappointing night for Conservatives," May tweeted. "It shows the importance of finding a Brexit deal, and I sincerely hope these results focus minds in parliament."
