Canada's parliament cancels session as police clear protests

Canadian lawmakers took the extraordinary step of canceling a parliamentary session on Friday, as police prepared to clear a trucker-led protest in downtown Ottawa in its third week, according to AFP.

The House of Commons, the Canadian parliament's lower chamber, has "agreed to cancel today's sitting," Government House Leader Mark Holland told AFP in a statement.
