Police shot a 22-year-old man dead in Saskatchewan,Canada after he rammed his vehicle into a police car, according to CTV Sunday.

Police received a call Saturday night about a man being fired at by some people in a vehicle in North Battleford of Saskatchewan province.

After police arrived at the intersection of two roads, the man rammed his vehicle into a police vehicle and police opened fire at the vehicle in response to the driver's actions.

En route to hospital, police confirmed the man died around 9:40 p.m. of injuries resulting from the discharge of RCMP firearms.

A female who was in the vehicle suffered minor injuries. She was taken to hospital for treatment and released into custody. One officer was injured and taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Police is conducting an investigation of the incident.
