The 14th round India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting was held at Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Chinese side on Wednesday, China's Ministry of National Defense said on Thursday.
Defense and foreign affairs representatives from China and India had "a frank and in-depth exchange of views" toward the resolution of issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Western Sector, said a statement of the ministry.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to follow the guidance provided by their national leaders and work toward the earliest resolution of remaining issues.
This would help restore peace and tranquility in the area and enable progress in bilateral relations, according to the statement.
Both sides agreed to consolidate on previous outcomes and take effective efforts to maintain security and stability on the ground in the Western Sector including during winter.
The two sides agreed to stay in close contact and maintain dialogue via military and diplomatic channels and work out a mutually acceptable resolution of the remaining issues at the earliest.
It was also agreed during the meeting that the next round of the Commanders' talks should be held as soon as possible.
The 13th round of talks took place on October 10, 2021.
