Bangkok (People's Daily) - The closing ceremony of a joint training exercise between China and Laos on humanitarian medical aid was held in an army college in Laos on Tuesday.

The exercise lasted seven days and was praised by the two countries’ armies. Laos Deputy Defense Minister Onesy Sensouk gave the medical team of the People’s Liberation Army a friendship award.

During the training exercise, the dam at the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy hydropower project in Attapeu province of southeast Laos collapsed on July 23. The PLA medical team sent 32 people to assist in the disaster.
