China, Vietnam vow to strengthen cooperation between legislatures

BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Wang Chen, vice chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, met with Tran Thanh Man, Standing Vice Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly (NA), via video link on Wednesday.

Speaking from Beijing, Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China and Vietnam are friendly socialist neighbors and a community with a shared future of strategic significance. Under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and countries, the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has witnessed sound and steady development.

China's NPC stands ready to work with Vietnam's NA to play a positive role in carrying forward traditional friendship, enhancing political mutual trust, deepening practical cooperation, properly managing differences, and enhancing people-to-people ties, Wang said.

Tran Thanh Man said Vietnam attaches great importance to developing relations with China. Vietnam's NA is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with China's NPC and provide a sound legal environment for promoting comprehensive bilateral cooperation.
