The China-aided project is meant for pregnant and lactating women in Timor-Leste.

By signing an agreement with the WFP, China plans to provide 550 tons of emergency food assistance to more than 140,000 malnourished pregnant and lactating women in Timor-Leste through the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund.

The launch and implementation of the project is of great significance to help Timor-Leste achieve sustainable development goals of zero hunger from 2011 to 2030, alleviate the growing malnutrition of the population, and promote the development of its economy and people's livelihood.
