The “Friendship Bags” were from the Chinese Embassy and the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry Inc. (FFCCCII).  Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian said since the outbreak of the pandemic, China and the Philippines have helped and supported each other to build a closer partnership through anti-pandemic cooperation. The Chinese Embassy will work together with Filipinos to strive for an early victory over the pandemic.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno thanked the Chinese Embassy for its continued support for the Manila people out of goodwill, and believes those supplies would be of great help for families in need.

With an aim to support Philippine efforts to tackle the challenge of COVID-19, the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, together with its Consulates General in Cebu, Davao and the Consulate in Laoag, are donating supplies of daily necessities to the local people with a combined value of about 17.5 million pesos.
