Chinese envoy to Sudan, chairman of Sudan's Transitional Military Council meet

Khartoum (People’s Daily) - Chinese Ambassador to Sudan Ma Xinmin met with the chairman of Sudan's Transitional Military Council Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan on Monday.

Ma congratulated Al-Burhan on his appointment as chairman of the Transitional Military Council. He said that China is concerned about the current situation in Sudan and hopes the country will maintain peace and stability. China firmly believes that every country and international organization should respect Sudan's sovereignty and political independence and not interfere in its internal affairs. China believes Sudan has the ability and wisdom to handle its internal affairs and safeguard its national security and stability, Ma said.

Sudan is willing to lift Sudan-China relations to a new high through joint efforts, said Al-Burhan. Sudan values the strategic partnership with China and hopes to promote the bilateral ties which are built on the friendship between the two peoples. Al-Burhan spoke highly of the friendly relations between the two countries and thanked China for its long-term support and selfless help. He said Sudan will make every effort to ensure the security and interests of Chinese citizens and institutions in Sudan.
