Colombia reports nearly 8,000 new COVID-19 cases

BOGOTA, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Colombia reported 7,986 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the nationwide tally to 1,324,792, Colombian health authorities said Tuesday.

Meanwhile, 168 more deaths were reported, raising the nationwide count to 36,934, National Institute of Health said, adding that 1,217,647 people have so far recovered from the disease.

Colombian President Ivan Duque has extended the health emergency until Feb. 28, 2021, and adopted measures to help reactivate the economy. Enditem
