NEW YORK, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 deaths in the United States topped 25,000 on Tuesday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The fresh figure has reached 25,402 by 6 p.m. local time Tuesday (2200 GMT), according to the CSSE.

The country saw a total of 594,207 cases, and New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, the three states with most cases, reported 10,834, 2,805 and 844 deaths, respectively, the CSSE said.
