COVID-19 in France: more than 50,000 cases

Paris (People’s Daily) -- France’s Ministry of Health and Solidarity announced Tuesday that there were 7578 new cases of coronavirus.

France now has a total of 52,128 diagnosed cases, of which 22,757 were admitted to hospital, 5565 were severe cases, 499 new fatalities, and 3523 fatalities in total.

French president Emmanuel Macron visited a French factory of protective masks located on the outskirts of Angers (Maine-et-Loire).

He wants "independence" from France "by the end of the year."
