Death toll from Indonesia's Sulawesi floods, landslides rises to 59

‍The death toll from floods and landslides in the Indonesian province of South Sulawesi rose to 59, with 25 others still missing as of Friday afternoon, according to the country's National Disaster Mitigation Agency.

Torrential rain led a dam burst its bank on Tuesday and submerged a total of 13 districts in South Sulawesi province.

3,481 people have been forced to flee home after the floods and landslides destroyed 79 houses, 10 bridges and dozens of buildings.

Rescue and operation work is underway.
