DPRK FM starts official visits to Singapore, Iran

PYONGYANG, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Ri Yong Ho left here Thursday to pay official visits to Singapore and Iran, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The top DPRK diplomat, who is leading a government delegation, will attend the ministerial meeting of an Association of Southeast Asian Nations regional forum in Singapore before making an official visit to Iran, said the report.

The 51st ASEAN foreign ministers' meeting and related meetings are being held in Singapore on Aug. 1-4.

ASEAN is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising 10 Southeast Asian countries, namely, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei.
