Hanoi (People's Daily) - DPRK leader Kim Jong-un and the US President Donald Trump shook hands and smiled before cameras at Hanoi's Metropole Hotel, eight months after their first meeting in Singapore.

Trump predicted the talks over DPRK's nuclear program would be "very successful."

Kim was also positive about the second summit and quoted as saying: "I am certain that an outcome will be achieved this time that will be welcomed by all people."

The first day's meeting began at 6:30 pm local time. According to a schedule provided by the White House, the two leaders have planned to have a social dinner after a 20-minute one-to-one conversation.
