Egypt’s total COVID-19 cases rise to 1450 with 128 new infections

Cairo (People’s Daily) – 128 new cases of COVID-19 and 9 new fatalities were confirmed in Egypt as of Tuesday evening, said a statement from the country’s health ministry.

The number of cases has risen to 1450 with the number of fatalities at 94, while 276 people have recovered.

On the same day, Egypt's Ministry of Religious Endowments announced a suspension of all congregational religious activities during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, which is set to start on April 23.

The decision comes as a precautionary measure due to the spread of the coronavirus, said the ministry.
