United States President Joe Biden warned on Thursday that Hurricane Ian could be the deadliest in Florida's history.

At the same time, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis warned Hurricane Ian will leave historic devastation, as the storm batters the state with catastrophic wind and rain.

Ian is forecast to turn northward on Friday and approach the northeastern Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina coasts.

One person is confirmed to have died in the Florida and some 2.7 million people are without power.
