Germany on Friday ratified an enormous 750-billion-euro ($885-billion) EU coronavirus recovery fund, breaking its taboos against debt pooling among members of the bloc to drag the continent back onto the path of growth.

After the lower house of parliament approved the fund on Thursday, the upper house Bundesrat greenlit it on Friday.
