Globally, as of 4:01 pm CEST on Friday, there have been 30,055,710 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 943,433 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 198,597 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 6,725,044, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 3:22 pm BJT on Saturday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,308,014. The death toll grew to 85,619.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 4,495,183. The death toll grew to 135,793.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,086,955 with 19,128 deaths.

It is followed by Peru with 756,412 infections and 31,283 deaths, Colombia with 750,471 infections and 23,665 deaths, Mexico with 688,954 cases and 72,803 deaths, South Africa with 657,627 cases and 15,857 deaths and Spain with 640,040 cases and 30,495 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Argentina have increased to 613,658 with 12,656 deaths.
