Globally, as of 4:19 pm CET, Thursday, there have been 47,930,397 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,221,781 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 234,876 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 9,600,324, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 8:25 am BJT on Friday. 

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,364,086. The death toll grew to 124,315.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,590,025. The death toll grew to 161,106.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,699,695 with 29,285 deaths.

It is followed by France with 1,648,989 infections and 39,088 deaths, Spain with 1,306,316 infections and 38,486 deaths, Argentina with 1,217,028 cases and 32,766 deaths, United Kingdom with 1,126,469 cases and 48,210 deaths, and Colombia with 1,117,983 cases and 32,209 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 943,630 with 93,228 deaths.
