The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 214,767 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 7,761,547, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 8:23 am BJT on Monday.
India has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,053,806. The death toll grew to 108,334.
Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,082,637. The death toll grew to 150,198.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,291,687 with 22,471 deaths.
It is followed by Colombia with 911,316 infections and 27,834 deaths, Argentina with 894,206 infections and 23,868 deaths, Spain with 861,112 cases and 32,929 deaths, Peru with 846,088 cases and 33,223 deaths and Mexico with 814,328 cases and 83,642 deaths.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in France have increased to 732,434 with 32,601 deaths.
