NEW YORK, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted northern East Pacific Rise at 22:34:47 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 8.5423 degrees north latitude and 102.7333 degrees west longitude.
