France reports steady COVID-19 decline

Paris (People's Daily) – French health officials announced COVID-19 cases continue to fall with 14,288 patients receiving treatment in hospitals, 14,322 fewer than the previous day. 

According to a press release from France’s health agency on Monday, hospitals nationwide have recorded 31 fatalities in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 28,833 since early March. 

Fatality numbers related to COVID-19 in nursing homes and medico-social establishments will be updated by Tuesday.

COVID-19 victims undergoing intensive care treatment are also in decline with nine admissions who have not recovered in the past day, o 1, 302 patients in total.  

So far, 152,091 people have tested positive for COVID-19. And 68,440 patients who received hospital treatment have since been cured and discharged.
