The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,880,321 with the global confirmed cases reaching 87,108,902 as of 9 am BJT on Thursday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 360,693 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 21,272,775, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 9 am BJT on Thursday.
India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,374,932. The death toll grew to 150,114.
Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,873,830. The death toll grew to 198,974.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 3,274,615 with 59,137 deaths.
It is followed by France with 2,763,073 infections and 66,699 deaths, UK with 2,845,236 infections and 77,470 deaths, Turkey with 2,283,931 cases and 22,070 deaths, Italy with 2,201,689 cases and 76,877 deaths and Spain with 1,982,544 cases and 51,430 deaths.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 1,841,228 with 37,314 deaths.
