Portuguese parliament approves 15-day extension of State of Emergency

LISBON, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Portuguese parliament approved on Thursday the second extension of the state of emergency until the next May 2 for another 15 days in Portugal.

The state of emergency, first of its kind in Portuguese history, was declared on March 18, and renewed on April 2 until April 17. According to the Portuguese Constitution, the state of emergency cannot last longer than 15 days, but it can be renewed with the same time limit.
