Globally, as of 3:24 pm CEST on Thursday, there have been 36,002,827 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,049,810 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 212,784 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 7,607,249, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 4:23 pm BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 6,906,151. The death toll grew to 106,490.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,028,444. The death toll grew to 148,957.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,265,572 with 22,137 deaths.

It is followed by Colombia with 886,179 infections and 27,180 deaths, Argentina with 856,369 infections and 22,710 deaths, Spain with 848,324 cases and 32,688 deaths, Peru with 835,662 cases and 33,009 deaths and Mexico with 804,488 cases and 83,096 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in France have increased to 711,704 with 32,539 deaths.
