The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,711,083 with the global confirmed cases reaching 122,908,517 as of 7:30 pm BJT on Sunday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 7:30 pm BJT, March 21):

The outbreak has now claimed 541,918 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 29,784,001 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 7:30 pm BJT on Sunday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 11,950,459 with 290,314 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

India has confirmed a total of 11,599,130 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 159,755.

Russia has confirmed 4,407,031 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 93,457.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,304,839, with the number of deaths at 126,359, according to the JHU virus tracker.

France has recorded 4,277,189 confirmed cases and 92,119 deaths.

A total of 3,356,331 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 104,642.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 72,910 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 3,212,332.

It is followed by Turkey with 29,959 deaths from 2,992,694 infections.

Germany has reported 2,669,233 COVID-19 cases and 74,707 deaths from the virus so far.
