MOSCOW, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Russia registered 5,617 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 21,459,284, the official monitoring and response center said on Saturday.

The center said the nationwide death toll increased by 67 to 390,526, while the number of recoveries grew by 7,819 to 20,849,598.

Meanwhile, Moscow reported 623 new cases, taking its total to 3,234,541.
