During a meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo, the two leaders emphasized the necessity of fully implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza without restrictions, as well as the swift commencement of early recovery and reconstruction in the strip, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.
They further reiterated the firm stance of Egypt and Jordan rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people outside their land. They also discussed developments in the West Bank, reaffirming their rejection of all violations and arbitrary practices against the Palestinian people.
The two leaders stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital is the only path to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
On other regional issues, the two sides emphasized the importance of de-escalating regional tensions, enhancing joint action to maintain stability, resolving crises through peaceful means, respecting the sovereignty of states, and preserving the resources of their peoples.
