Heavy snowfall across Japan has left 46 people dead and 543 injured since January 20.
The figures were released on Sunday by Japan's Fire and Disaster Management Agency (FDMA) under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
The heavy snow has disrupted air travel, with All Nippon Airways canceling multiple flights to and from locations including Tokyo's Haneda Airport, affecting more than 12,000 passengers.
The weather conditions have also disrupted education schedules, with several schools postponing entrance examinations due to snowfall.
Universities affected include Hosei University and Chuo University, according to their official websites.
