WB to invest up to 1 bln USD annually in Kazakhstan in 2026-2031

ALMATY, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The World Bank (WB) has committed to providing up to 1 billion U.S. dollars annually in Kazakhstan over the next six years under a new Country Partnership Framework for 2026-2031, the country's National Economy Ministry said Thursday.

The draft strategy outlines several key priorities, including the enhancement of transport and digital connectivity, climate action initiatives, improvements in water and energy sector services, the development of financial markets, the stimulation of private investment, and the expansion of renewable energy use.

Additionally, analytical support for reforms will continue through the Joint Economic Research Program, a collaborative effort between the Kazakh government and the World Bank.

Under the previous Country Partnership Framework strategy for 2020-2025, 14 projects were successfully implemented, totaling 4.2 billion dollars.
