KABUL, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake struck Afghanistan at around 5:40 p.m. local time on Friday, with strong tremors felt in the capital, Kabul.

According to the German Research Center for Geosciences, the quake had a magnitude of 5.7. The epicenter was located at 35.48 degrees north latitude and 69.86 degrees east longitude, with a focal depth of 72.8 kilometers.
