THE HAGUE, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Some privacy-sensitive customer data stolen from Dutch telecommunications provider Odido has been published on the dark web after the company refused to pay a ransom demand, local media reported on Thursday.

According to Dutch public broadcaster NOS, the exact volume of the data released remains unclear. The hacker group ShinyHunters had previously threatened to publish one million lines of data per day, including email addresses and phone numbers, unless Odido paid an undisclosed ransom.

An Odido spokesperson said, "On the advice of advisors and government agencies, we have decided not to negotiate with this group. We are now focusing on customer security."

On Feb. 12, Odido confirmed that data from 6.2 million customer accounts had been exposed in a cyberattack. The leaked information includes customers' full names, addresses, places of residence, and mobile phone numbers, among other basic details. The company emphasized that no passwords, call logs, or billing information were compromised.
