KABUL, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Seven public utility projects have been implemented in eastern Afghanistan's Kapisa province at a total cost of 1.18 billion afghanis (over 18.1 million U.S. dollars), significantly improving local infrastructure and public services, the official media Bakhtar news agency reported Monday.

The projects, funded through government development programs, focus on strengthening essential facilities and are expected to enhance living standards in the province, the report said.

In a separate but related development, imported electricity projects have been completed in Paktia province. With the completion of these power projects, around 2,000 families have gained access to electricity for the first time.

Afghan officials have reiterated their commitment to continuing public welfare and energy projects across the country, aiming to reduce regional disparities and improve daily life for local communities.
