DUBAI, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Dubai-based carrier Emirates said Thursday it is operating a reduced flight schedule following regional airspace restrictions, with more than 100 flights expected to depart from and return to Dubai on Thursday and Friday.

An Emirates spokesperson said the airline has adjusted its operations after the partial reopening of regional airspace, allowing commercial flights to resume under safe conditions.
"Emirates can confirm that it is currently operating a reduced flight schedule until further notice. This follows the partial reopening of regional airspace for the safe conduct of commercial flights," the spokesperson said, adding that the airline continues to monitor the regional situation and adjust operations as necessary.
The development came as the joint U.S.-Israeli military operation against Iran entered its sixth day. The operation has triggered a sharp escalation across the Middle East, setting off waves of missile exchanges, mounting casualties, and far-reaching political, security and economic repercussions.
