BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted near coast of central Chile at 2255 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 15.8 km, was initially determined to be at 28.76 degrees south latitude and 71.32 degrees west longitude.
