DUBAI, March 10 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates said on Tuesday that air defense systems were intercepting incoming missiles and that residents had received mobile alerts warning of a potential missile threat.
In a post on social platform X, the Defense Ministry said that the sounds heard in some areas were caused by air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles and fighter jets engaging drones and cruise missiles.
Meanwhile, residents in Dubai received emergency mobile alerts warning of a potential missile threat and urging them to seek shelter, while Dubai airports announced a temporary suspension of operations.
