PARIS, March 25 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out Wednesday at a hotel in downtown Paris, and the latest media reports said three people sustained moderate injuries.

Le Bristol Paris hotel, located in Paris's 8th arrondissement, not far from the Elysee Palace, caught fire in the basement, causing an evacuation of some 400 people. Numerous firefighters are on the scene, according to local media.

In a post on social media platform X, the Paris Police Prefecture is urging people to avoid the area "to allow emergency and police services to do their work."
