"It could cause a major radiological incident if the reactor were to be damaged," the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned on Friday, following a new strike in the area of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran, the third such incident in 10 days.

In a post on social media platform X, the IAEA said it had been informed by Iran of the strike.According to Iranian authorities, the operating reactor was not damaged, no radiation release was reported, and the facility remains in normal condition.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi expressed deep concern over the recent military activity near a nuclear facility, reiterating his call for maximum military restraint to avoid the risk of a nuclear accident.
