KABUL, April 1 (Xinhua) -- More than 9,000 families have been displaced in Afghanistan's eastern Kunar province following a series of cross-border rocket attacks, local media outlet Tolo news reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, residents from several affected areas have relocated to safer locations, while only a limited number have remained behind to protect their homes and belongings.
In addition to significant material losses, residents report growing psychological distress as a result of the continued violence. Authorities have initiated assessments to determine the needs of displaced families, with efforts currently underway to deliver emergency assistance.
