NAY PYI TAW, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's Union Parliament announced on Thursday that it will elect the country's president on Friday, with three vice presidents having passed the scrutiny of presidential candidate qualifications.

The vice presidents are Min Aung Hlaing, Nan Ni Ni Aye, and U Nyo Saw.
The elected representatives of Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House) and Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House) on Tuesday elected Min Aung Hlaing and Nan Ni Ni Aye as vice presidents, respectively. U Nyo Saw was elected as a vice president by the group of military representatives from both houses of Myanmar's Union Parliament later that day.
The presidential electoral college, composed of all representatives of the Union Parliament, will elect the president from among the three vice presidents.
