BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted Vanuatu Islands at 2322 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 261.6 km, was initially determined to be at 18.9 degrees south latitude and 169.51 degrees east longitude.
