Drone strike damages aid warehouse in southern Iran

TEHRAN, April 3 (Xinhua) -- A relief warehouse operated by the Iranian Red Crescent Society in the southern province of Bushehr was hit by a drone strike early Friday morning, Iranian media reported.

According to the Fars News Agency, the attack occurred at around 5:00 a.m. local time (0130 GMT) in the Choghadak area. The facility was directly struck, with at least two aid containers destroyed, along with two equipment vehicles and one Red Crescent bus.

No casualties have been confirmed so far.

The report noted that under the Geneva Conventions and principles of international humanitarian law, attacks on relief facilities and humanitarian infrastructure are explicitly prohibited.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the strike.
