Le Minh Hung elected Vietnam's new PM

HANOI, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday afternoon adopted a resolution on the election of Le Minh Hung as prime minister of Vietnam for the 2026-2031 tenure.

The resolution won the support of 495 out of 495 legislators present at the first session of the 16th NA.

In his statement, Hung said that his cabinet's priorities include building a modern, enabling and service-oriented government, achieving annual economic growth of at least 10 percent during 2026-2031, driven by innovation and digital transformation, investing in human development and social welfare, and ensuring the effective operation of the new two-tier local administration model.
