BEIJING, April 13 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese foreign minister, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay an official visit to China on April 14 and 15, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Monday.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a regular press briefing that during this visit, the foreign ministers of the two countries will exchange views and coordinate positions on the development of bilateral ties, cooperation in various fields, and international and regional issues of mutual concern.
Noting that China and Russia are comprehensive strategic partners of coordination for a new era, Guo pointed out that in recent years, the two countries have steadily deepened their permanent good-neighborly friendship, expanded comprehensive strategic coordination, adhered to mutually beneficial cooperation, and maintained close communication and coordination in international and regional affairs.
"The two sides have made important contributions to promoting an equitable and orderly multipolar world, reforming and improving global governance, and safeguarding international fairness and justice," said Guo.
