KABUL, April 13 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has allocated 73.4 million U.S. dollars in critical humanitarian assistance to Afghans over the past year, with plans to reach an estimated 3.5 million individuals in need, according to a report by local media outlet TOLOnews on Monday.

The aid package prioritizes the most vulnerable communities, delivering essential support such as food assistance, healthcare services, and emergency relief to those facing urgent crises. Notably, women and girls represent 53 percent of the total beneficiaries, the report said.

The allocation reflects an ongoing commitment to alleviating suffering and supporting resilience among at-risk populations.
